Qana Revisited 30th July 2006

“Precious ones, forgive meThis is what grownups do when they play

In heaven there are no monsters
No one to take your loved ones away

Your tender hands in mine
I hear your soft voices asking me “Why?”

I am ashamed

We as grownups have let you down, so terribly

Come now little souls dry your tears
Some of us will never forget you

Sleep little children sleep

let your new wings carry you away”

Dear People in Lebanon:

I am an American and I want you to know that my heart is broken into a million pieces from watching the death and destruction of your people and your country. I pray to God, please help these people of Lebanon and also of Israel. Please dear God, please help them find something good in each other. I know that you are suffering so and I would bring you here to my home if only I could and comfort you and share with you a life of peace. My husband and I are not wealthy people from the United States. We are common, working people and just like the mjaority of all of you that live in Lebanon. Oh how, I pray that you could have the peace of mind that we have in our country. I don’t know who is right or who is wrong in this horrific war that you are fighting over there but what I do know is that I love you and I pray for you and your families. I want you to know that you are not suffering over there alone. My heart hurts for you now and every minute of the day. I do not see your suffering but I share it with you. Please understand that the American people at large share and feel your pain and suffering. I pray for our God to stop the war and bring peace and prosperity to you and your people.
